Ginger Tea Remedy

December 30, 2014

Cold winds are here, and it's best to bundle up and stay warm.  But if you do find yourself feeling ill this winter an old friend of mine gave me a great way to stave off a cold. Be sure and eat well and give ginger a try!

Grated Ginger Tea
Get a nice sized piece of natural ginger and grate it. Put it into a coffee filter and tie it off with some baster string or other natural fiber string. Boil a cup of water and add the ginger pouch.

Let it boil down for a while and then add another cup of water after around 15 minutes. Let that boil down and drink your tea. It's going to be hot! (And a bit spicy- be sure and add some additional cold water to dilute as well as honey to taste. )

Drink that tea and then get in a water bathtub with the rest of what's in your self-made ginger pouch. Add in some epsom salts for some added relaxation and be sure to bring in some additional water to drink as the epsom salts and ginger are going to be pulling toxins out of your pores. Be sure and rinse off with some fresh water after your long, relaxing bath.

Now get out of that tub and pile on some warm clothes, a robe and take a nap with all the blinkets you want! It's a great way to give your body and boost and sweat out some of those cold weather winds!

To read more about the properties of ginger and the history of it's use in human health here's a great website.

You have all been so gracious in rescheduling your appointments as needed during this cold and flu season, I just wanted to give those who need it a natural remedy!

Stay Well!
